The club was founded by myself as a basketball coach at chiswick school back in February 2016. I've been working at the school coaching basketball since 2011 and have lead to school to numerous borough championships in basketball. The school have produced good basketball player like Tyrese Walters-Lawrence a point guard who has went on to play for Canterbury Academy a top level college in the U.K competing in the EABL.
I myself played for London towers as a junior for the great late coach Joe White and later moved on to representing my country England at the junior age group level. I stopped playing at the age of 25 and moved on to refereeing basketball before picking up coaching in the summer of 2012. I coached for my local national league team the Newham All Star Academy basketball club. Under my guidance I lead them all the way to the national final fours in 2013 finishing 3rd overall in the country. After that season I returned to focus on my refereeing and finish off my education at the university of east London. I returned to coaching national club coaching again in 2016 to be the head coach of the Richmond Knights basketball Under 16 age group team. Richmond Knights finished the season 3rd overall this past season making an improvement from the season before where they finished close to the bottom of the league.
Chiswick gators are a brand new basketball club with a lot of potential. In our 1st season playing in the London community league we finished bottom but beat a team who finished top of the league. We have learnt a lot over the past year and know where we made mistakes in the past and are working on getting better. With anything new I believe it takes time and patients. Chiswick gators are new and we are learning quickly what it takes to be better. We are looking forward to the new coming season.
We are part of the Great Britain Basketball Association:
